The Attika Sandals were shoes made by Attikans during the 5th century BCE. They were considered quite popular in Athens.
During the Peloponnesian War, the Spartan misthios Kassandra was awarded a pair after meeting the statesman Perikles and agreeing to help him with a number of errands in exchange for the information that she needed in regards to her mother.[1]
