Portuguese empire, Spanish empire or Iberian Union ?
We can wait the release of the game to discuss about this point. In 1580, King Philip II of Spain became king of Portugal after the death of his predeccessor in Morocco. The two iberian empires were in a personnal union (same king but two crowns) known as the Iberian Union from 1580 to 1640.
