Template:WPtargets Assassination Targets are those the Assassins have deemed worthy of elimination. They are a major plot point and gameplay addition of the games.

Altaïr's Assassination Targets

Altaïr must assassinate some figures to find The Chalice:

Altaïr must assassinate nine tyrannical public figures in order to restore his lost rank and honor within the Assassins Order:

As each man is publicly assassinated within their specific cities and districts, the word of their deaths will sweep through the Holy Land spreading fear and discomfort among those left within this secret Brotherhood seeking to stop the assassins' continued progress, proves these are not just random political assassinations but are of much greater significance. Forcing Altaïr to face this great threat with the true understanding and knowledge as an assassin. Altaïr at first views the assassinations of the Nine as just unlinked killings of selfish men profiting from the war. But continued disruption of this secret societies plans within the Holy Land, will begin to cause Altaïr to question the means of killing as the Assassins Orders' only means of duty when fighting for "peace in all things."

Altaïr also has other targets:

These targets, apart from Al Mualim and the Green-cloaked man, were necessary to aid Cypriot Resistance in the liberation of Cyprus from the grasp of the Templars. Altaïr has only spared one other target, Maria Thorpe, who had acted as a decoy for de Sable. After this encounter, they would meet again twice and eventually fall in love.

Ezio's Assassination Targets

Ezio must assassinate several noblemen in order to avenge the deaths of his family, as well as complete his father's life work, save Florence and Venice from corruption and fulfill his destiny as an Assassin.

In Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood, there are also several Templar Agent side missions, where Ezio must track down and kill Templar agents who are wreaking havoc amongst the local population of Rome.
