This location was the headquarters of the Assassin Order in the year 2012. It was from here that William M. coordinated and kept in touch with the various teams of Assassins across the globe. In an e-mail to Shaun Hastings, William M. explained that the headquarters had "lots of history."
The location was evidently secure, as in the same e-mail from William, he stated that Shaun's Assassin team (which included Desmond Miles, Lucy Stillman, Rebecca Crane) would be traveling to the headquarters once they had secured the Apple of Eden.
