The Assassin Council was the governing body of the French branch of the Assassin Order.
History
It is unknown when the French Council was officially formed, however at some point they became acquainted with John de la Tour, who eventually began operating under their orders in the American Colonies. Through de la Tour, the Council helped in the establishment of the Colonial Brotherhood around 1746.[1]
In 1748, Gaspar Velasquez and his associates began working on the blueprints of a brig in Spain, but were unable to construct the ship on their own due to the threat of the British Templars. Therefore, the plans were then sent to the French Council. The following year, the brig was constructed in Brest and named the Aquila, before being sent to America, where it was used by the Colonial Brotherhood.[1]
Members
By 1789, the Council was led by the Mentor Mirabeau, and was composed of four Master Assassins: Pierre Bellec, Sophie Trenet, Hervé Quemar, and Guillaume Beylier.[2]
