Abd ar-Rahman II (792 – 852) was emir of Emirate of Córdoba from 822 until his death in 852.
Known for ruling with a hard grip, Abd al-Rahman II nonetheless was the first Emir to open trade routes with the Norse-Gaelic Kingdom of Dublin in Ireland, a tradition that was later maintained by his son Muhammad I and the trader Azar.[1]
