The Eradication of the Templar Agents was a series of events in which Ezio Auditore da Firenze and individuals of the Constantinople Assassin Order assassinated key Templars within the city and thus freed Constantinople from Templar rule. Each assassination began with an apprentice, training to become a Master Assassin, who approached Ezio with pleas for aid, advice or for further tutoring.

The apprentices proceeded to go on covert missions with their mentor in which they were given special training that was only given to Assassins destined to become Den Leaders.

The Sentinel, Part 1

"Mentor, we have a problem. A great many Assassins have disappeared in recent months, and I believe I know why."

During the year of 1511, Ezio Auditore assigned one of the Assassin apprentices recruited from Constantinople to an Assassin Den in the hope of training it to become a Master Assassin in wisdom and skill. The apprentice sensed something wrong within their district after some time of controlling and protecting the local Assassin affairs and confronted Ezio with the information. Together they walked through the district, discussing the disappearances of several Assassins in the past months.

The Apprentice proceeded to a park where he assassinated two guards with double Hidden Blades and hid within a cart of hay; Ezio brought a speedy death to another two guards, calling upon nearby Assassins to silently assassinate a guard that stood out of Ezio's range. After the elder Assassin joined his companion next to the haystack, he asked the apprentice to watch for danger while he searched the area for clues as to a vague sense of approaching danger.

While Ezio used his Eagle Vision to study an Assassin corpse on a nearby bench and a puddle of blood from a possible second murder, a cloaked figure used an aerial strike on a crossbowman nearby, wearing the same style and outfit of an Italian Assassin. This action alerted both men on the ground, forcing Ezio to order his Apprentice to follow the killer. The apprentice took to the rooftops and followed his Mentor as the man chased the Sentinel through the narrow streets.

The Sentinel

Ezio and the fleeing murderer threw insults at one another until the apprentice attempted to assassinate him from above, having managed to overtake both men. The Sentinel avoided the attack by dodging backwards and used the sudden appearance of a handful of guards as a diversion for his escape, activating a smoke bomb as he turned defiantly to his hunters. Ezio commanded his apprentice not to try to hunt such a dangerous opponent until he had been properly trained to a higher level of skill.
