Today begins a new series of posts without mentions of ridiculous teenage songs in its titles! Rejoice! XD
Here I was, in my home, taking a wonderful 4 hour nap after a fantastic A+ college presentation about Ancient Rome, when I was awaken by Harry Potter's owl--I mean, tweet--asking me to come to IRC.  Apparently we got a motherlode of new info regarding the AC series and the encyclopedia, and this lovely post I hoped to post later today is posted now =P My sleep is broken for the good of the wiki -- being staff ain't easy kids. Make sure to drop by the page and thannks of each of our staff members later who stay up all night helping make this place awesome XD

First, I would like to begin this post adressing the absence of our sysop User:War Clown -- he will be missed. There's little I can say that has not been said, but I'll say this: may fortune smiles on your travels, brother, and brings you back to us safely someday.
Today we have A LOT of info for ya, both AC-related and wiki-related.

With the sad stuff said, let's get the party started! Pardeee!

I would like to officially welcome User:Elchzard into the staff -- altough the unanymous oppinion among us was that Elch was Staff material, most believed he needed more edit work before joining us. I understand that and agree to certain extent, but the unique circunstance demanded unique actions: War departed and left Elch without a master. With his training too advanced to stop and with the Initative out of avaiable masters, the best choice for him and for us was to promote him -- editing is something he will only acquire with practice, with no need to be teached, but with need for experience. As such, I consulted with User:Assassin-Rayne and User:Vatsa1708 -- the Istruttorium's Direttore and Carmelengo respectively -- and both accepted Elch was already good enough to join them, and a Istruttore Elch now is. But more important than he becoming staff is the fact that he is the first sucessful apprentice to graduate the Iniative! So after 6 months of hard work by every single member of the staff, giving their best that a deeper bond and a better wiki is created, the project starts to give fruit! So congratulations to every single one involved, and special congrats to Elch. Look forward for his graduation speech in the comments below. =P

First, I am pleased to inform you that the Assassin's Creed Wiki in association with Wikia Corporation will host it's first giveaway ever! We got our hands into copies of Ubisoft Games including AC, AC2 and ACBH, and a contest will open next week ^^ The games are PC only, but with the plus side of being delivered worldwide -- no US residents only.

Entry
For entrance, each contestant must have a Valid Steam Account and be over 16 years old -- since AC games are rated as "Mature" by ESRG, users who win it must be over the minimum age. If you are below that age, the contestant must be your parent or older sibling -- any winner who fails to prove to be over 16 will be disqualified.
The giveaway will consist of 3 (three) methods of entry:
* a creative quote contest for creative people who can't draw
* a art contest for creative people who can draw
* a random lottery for who's none of the above
Keep in mind participation is accepted in all three entries, so a user can submit a art, a quote and a waffle on the lottery and have 3 chances of winning.
Creative quote
<center>"What Ezio says when his blade doesn't spring?"</center>
Write a creative quote with that subject in mind. Yes, it's a innuendo. Yes, it's the best we came up with. Yeah? Well, up yours, buddy.
Art Contest
Pictures!! Everybody loves pictures of AC stuff, specially well done ones. As such, people can particiapte by submitting their own (repeat: their OWN. we will search google and deviant art and the end of the universe if necessary to find out if you stole it from somewhere) pictures based on AC canon. To reduce the ammount of topics and help narrow your efforts in such short time, the subject of the drawing is:
<center>"Passing of the torch"</center>
With Ezio retiring/dying and Altaïr retired/dead, we feel the need to express the whole idea behind the next AC game -- as such, the passing of the torch and continuing of the lineage of Assassins. Altaïr to Ezio, Ezio to Marcello nad Flavia, Desmond, whatever -- the one drawing who best embodies the continuing unstoppable lineage of awesome assassins gets the prize!
Lottery / Waffle (not the eating kind)
People will signup on a page, and each name will be numbered. At the end of the giveaway, we take the numbers and thrown them on a random number generator, then we take the winning number and see who it belongs to. That will prevent favoritism or cheating of any kind.
Prizes
*Assassin's Creed: Director's Cut Edition (PC)
*Assassin's Creed II: Director's Cut Edition (PC)
*Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood (PC)
Dates
The giveaway will start on September 7th and end on October 8th.
Podcast
Next comes PODCASTS! We, the ACWiki, in addition to the OutcastTemplarsClan, a BH and future ACR multiplayer clan, will be making a podcast with live broadcast of the ACR beta to all of you out there who don't have a PS3, and we will also discuss topics related to the whole AC series in general, past and future, including expectations and history overall. A part of my staff will be present on these podcasts (and one copy of AC will be awarded live!) so make sure to drop by and listen -- this will also be a test bed for our own ACWiki podcast in the future.
This friday

Next, I've came across some very awesome videos throught the internet that may interest many people around here, so when you are sitting in your chair staring at the PC thinking about who would win in a fight between a llama and a camel, make sure to watch one of those!

* Assassin's Creed v.s. Prince of Persia <br>This very awesome video is a 3D martial arts fight between Altaïr from Assassin's Creed and The Prince from the 2008 game Prince of Persia that makes homage to a lot of fighting movies out there, from Bruce Lee and Jackie Chan passing through Jet Li all the way up to The Matrix. Is a must watch and I definitely recommend it to everyone (specially to Rayne and DarkFeather, our resident ninjas XD) and I also recommend the 2008 Prince of Persia game -- I personally like it more than the others -- and The Prince is dubbed by Nolan North XD<br><small>Note:I THINK it was first linked to me months ago by Kaishiro on IRC, but I can be wrong</small>
* AC <br>Made by Outcast Templars Clan, this not so little video gives a nice understanding of the multiplayer mechanics, with good quality and gameplay shots. If you liek multiplayer, you can't miss it.
* AC: Beautiful Lies] <br>A amazingly work of awesomeness, this video is superior to most videos I've ever seen Ubisoft publish XD A tribute to Altaïr, Ezio and Desmond, it is guaranteed to blow your mind!
* ACR Gamescom 2011 Demo <br>And this last one is new gameplay of Revelations featuring both Ezio AND Altaïr. It was featured in the Gamescon 2011 -- if you can't read german, to watch you jsut have to click the box with a yellow arrow. Knock yourselves out!
