Well you all say about Altair's Smowrd was used in AC1 but I disagree :/

I think Altair's Sword as well as Altair's Armor in AC2 is made by Altair himself after he earned the Apple of Eden by Al Mualim. With the knowledge contained in the Apple of Eden Altair managed to build an Armour and a Sword, his Armour and Sword, that didn't apper in AC1. Of course that's only my opinion, i resulted in this conclusion after reading the Codex pages in AC2. So i think Altair built The Armor, The Sword, modified the blades and all after he had the Appla in his hands :/

Btw You should read the Codex's while playing AC for the first time..it's really great!!

This sword looks sickk

Yeah, it's pretty awesome. (: I feel like a bit of an idiot, but I'm not sure how to change the title of the page itself from "... Altair" to "... Altaïr." Also, should we really keep the sword stats section if there is an image showing the same information? --Aftyn 09:32, December 2, 2009 (UTC)

I think we should get rid of the sword stat pic since there is a pic with the same stats (Enzio)

"Wrong Sword"

I find it very funny that Altaïr's sword in AC 2 is actually the 3rd last sword Altaïr is rewarded with in AC 1. The 2nd last sword he gets is the same sword only that the handle is of a blank metal and not brown wood. The last and best sword Altaïr gets in AC 1 is the "Old Syrian Sword" one of the first you can buy in AC2.

What could cause the blade change? Well i've given it some thoughts:

Well the old Syrian sword might have been better under the crusade, its thicker more massive and heavier, thats good against men in chain mail and plates, since you can bend the plate make it impossible for a knight to move, or you can hit the chain mail hard enough for it to break, and if not the weapon is heavy enough for the enemy to get a wound anyway.

In Assassins Creed 2, the Renessance the guards were either plated like hell, or carrying lighter armor or non at all... Italy is not a war zone and the guards are there for taking care of thieves and fist fighting peasants. Any way my point is, When fighting light equipped enemies its better with a thinner faster and sharp sword, and that might be the reason for a weapon change.

Summary:

Crusades: Fighting soldiers armored and equipped for war, A more heardy and strong sword to break the defense.

Renesance: Light equipped guards fast guards: the need of a strong heavier sword isn't there, and you chose a fast light weapon, since your opponents aren't wearing armor, you can cut them like cheese.

Of course the bruits are an exception, but usually you use speed to tackle these slow tanks.

Sword modified with the apple?

Hi... just wondered, if Altaïr used the apple to modify the sword, wouldn't it had been mentioned in the codex?

Wrong choice of sword?

This is a thought being posted way late, but am I the only one who thinks that AC2 should have had Altair's second short blade as the reward for unlocking Altair's armor? Sure his sword has great stats in AC2, but I spent a lot of time in the original Assassin's Creed looking at that short blade (what my bro and I have come to call "the Elven blade"). I think it's more recognizable than Altair's sword, which looks rather boring in comparison.--CasualGamer 07:12, December 29, 2010 (UTC)
