*The true rifles came into use during the mid-19<sup>th</sup> Century; whilst there were "rifles" available during the 15<sup>th</sup> Century, they were even more prone to misfire and crappiness then muskets, so it's is extremely unlikely for soldiers protecting a Pope to be armed with rifles, and not muskets. Also, no information we have had has explicitly called them "riflemen", and not musketeers, so we should probably place them under the most likely.
