Ōminesan-ji is a Buddhist temple in southeastern Yamato, Japan.
History
In 1582, the Kakushiba ikki members Fujibayashi Naoe and Yasuke traveled to the temple after meeting with Gyoji, a host of a fighting tournament at the temple, invited them to their tournament. There, he clarified and announced that they would be the new challenger while asking for their help to rid them of the warrior monk Unkai. After defeating every member of his collective, they soon faced off the drunk monk and ultimately defeated him in combat. Afterwards, Gyoji thanked them and explained how Unkai was a fallen monk of the temple and grew drunk and rageful, killing any opponent. With him gone, Gyoji stated that his work of ridding the land of problematic warriors will continue.[1]
