Sir Winston Leonard Spencer-Churchill (30 November 1874 – 24 January 1965), was the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom during World War II. During his lengthy political career, Churchill served as Prime Minister twice, from 1940 to 1945 and then from 1951 to 1955, when he was voted out in the election just after the war. He was regarded in history as one of the greatest and most influential war-time political leaders, and was also noted as a historian, writer and artist.
During his time as First Lord of the Admiralty (from 1911-15), he experimented with mounting anti-aircraft guns on boat.[1]
In 1916, during World War I, he enlisted the aid of Assassin Lydia Frye to root out a German spy radio calling dirigibles near Tower Bridge in London. Despite her success in finding the radio, one dirigible accompanied by multiple fighter planes entered London airspace. Churchill then arranged for a ship with a mounted anti-aircraft gun for Frye's use to shoot down the enemy aircraft. After she successfully stopped the aircraft, Churchill requested Frye's aid once more, this time to stop a fanatical German group in London. He delivered information on the spies to Frye, and arranged a for a raid on the leader's hideout, ensuring the dissolution of the spy cell.[1]
Churchill was later one of the Templar-influenced political leaders who were involved in staging World War II, alongside Joseph Stalin, Adolf Hitler and Franklin D. Roosevelt, in an attempt to create a New World Order.[2]
