A Whitworth rifle

The Whitworth Rifle is a single-shot rifle which was used primarily by the Confederate States in the American Civil War and by the French Army.

History[edit | edit source]

A Whitworth Rifle was owned by the veteran and former sniper in the British Army, Curtis. One day in 1868, the former British colonel Louis Prescott challenged Curtis to use his Whitworth rifle to hit the twelve on the factory clock from his shop window. Curtis accepted but hit the clock just a few inches too low. Moments later, Prescott was killed with a similar weapon, leading Curtis to become a suspect in the subsequent investigation.

Trivia[edit | edit source]

  • The particular model of the Whitworth shown in game is the target model.
