The '''Viana Castle''' was a large fortified Castel in [[Viana]], Kingdom of Navarre (Coquered by Spain in 1512), held by Louis de Beaumont. It was besieged by [[Cesare Borgia]] and King John's army of 10,000 men in 1507. The Castel was an extremely strong natural fortification and essentially impenetrable at the time. As a result, Cesare besieged the Castel to weaken the forces inside, counting on a desperate surprise attack.

The Viana Castle was a large fortified stronghold in Viana, Kingdom of Navarre, which was conquered by Spain in 1512. The castle was held by Louis de Beaumont at the time it was besieged by Cesare Borgia and King John's army of 10,000 men in 1507. In order to attempt to breach the extremely strong, natural fortification of the castle, Cesare counted on a desperate surprise attack.
