The Torre Grossa (English: Great Tower) stood next to the Palazzo Comunale in the town square of the Italian town San Gimignano. It was the secret location of an Assassin's Tomb.[1]
After the Assassin Ezio Auditore da Firenze reached the Assassin tomb during the Renaissance, he exited the structure through the top of the tower.
Database Entry
Rising 54 meters above San Gimignano, the city's largest tower, the Torre Grossa, lives up to its name. Unlike some other towers, it even has a bell inside it. Construction of the Torre Grossa began in 1300 and finished in 1311.[1]
Trivia
- Despite being the tallest structure in San Gimignano, it does not have a view point located at its peak.[1]
