The Torre Grossa (English: Great Tower) stood next to the Palazzo Comunale in the town square of the Italian town San Gimignano. It was the secret location of an Assassin's Tomb.[1]
Database Entry
Rising 54 meters above San Gimignano, the city's largest tower, the Torre Grossa, lives up to its name. Unlike some other towers, it even has a bell inside it. Construction of the Torre Grossa began in 1300 and finished in 1311.[1]
Trivia
- Despite being the tallest structure in San Gimignano, it does not have a view point located its peak.[1]
