Tomb of Menekrates

The Tomb of Menekrates is a cenotaph in the city of Korkyra on the island of Korfu.

Built around 600 BCE,[1] it was dedicated by the citizens of Korkyra to Menekrates, an ambassador of the city to Oiantheia, when he got lost at sea and never returned.[2]

During the Peloponnesian War, the tomb was visited by the misthios Kassandra while she was on her vacation on the island.[3]
