Theramenes (died 404 BCE) was an Athenian statesman who was active during the final phase of the Peloponnesian War. He was a member of the Thirty Tyrants who governed Athens as an oligarchy after the polis defeat during the war.
Around 411 BCE, a project was started to construct a bridge between Boeotia and Euboea to connect the island to the mainland. Learning of this, Theramenes attempted to stop its construction by taking 30 triremes with him.[1]
