Theodosius II (Greek: Θεοδόσιος; 401 – 450), was Roman Emperor from 402 to his death and sole emperor of the Byzantine Empire after the death of his father in 408.[1]
Biography
In 447,[2] a major earthquake affected Constantinople. The city's walls crumbled and raised vast clouds of dust that blocked the sun. Under the threat of an invasion by the Attila the Hun and his hordes, Theodosius ordered the praetorian prefect, Constantine Flavius, to repair the walls with haste.[3]
