Theater of Delphi

The Theater of Delphi was a theater which overlooked the Sanctuary of Delphi in Phokis, Greece.

History

Situated above the Temple of Apollo, it offered an expansive view of the sanctuary and the valley below, and could accommodate around 5000 spectators in its seats. In ancient times, the theater hosted a number of different artistic contests, especially during competitions such as the Pythian Games. Contests also included plays, poetry readings, and musical performances, held for the audience and the god of arts Apollo.[1]

During the Peloponnesian War, the theater was visited by the Spartan misthios Kassandra.[2]

Behind the scenes

The theater is not named in-game, only in the Discovery Tour.
