The Farm was the birthplace and childhood home of Desmond Miles, where he was to be trained as an Assassin. It was an Assassin hideout that lay in the desert, an "off-the-grid" compound, with a population of approximately thirty people, much like the mountain city of Masyaf. Assassins who lived there were not allowed to leave the compound, thus Desmond decided to flee the Farm to see the outside world.
When the Assassins attempted to liberate Desmond from Abstergo in 2012, Warren Vidic revealed that the Assassin attackers were the last of the group from Desmond's birthplace.
