This article is about Temple of Athena in Keos. For other uses, see Temple of Athena.

The Temple of Athena Nedousia was a temple dedicated to Athena, located on the hill overlooking the city of Koressia in the region of Pirate's Revenge in Keos, Greece.
History
During the Peloponnesian War, the temple and the surrounding city was occupied and used as the headquarters by the pirate queen Xenia. Around 431 BCE, the misthios Kassandra visited the temple in search of Xenia, having been sent by the Aspasia. Upon arriving at the temple door, she witnessed Xenia torturing a man before sending him away with her pirates. Afterwards, she introduced herself to the pirate queen, informing her of her search for a Spartan woman.[1]
Trivia
- The temple serves as a viewpoint in Assassin's Creed: Odyssey.
- Nedousia is Greek for 'of Nedon', referencing a river in Messenia.
