Tekin (died 870) was a swordsmith in Bulgar.

Biography

In 870, Tekin's smithy was visited by the Viking Sigurd Styrbjornson of the Raven Clan, who was looking for a blade of crucible steel. Tekin had such a sword, an Ulfberht blade he had crafted for his brother as a gift before learning he had been killed by the Norse in a raid for his silks. Tekin and two accomplices attempted to ambush Sigurd for revenge, but he easily dealt with them, killing one accomplice and Tekin before taking the sword as a prize.[1]
