Subutai (1175 – 1248) was a Mongolian general, and the primary military strategist of Genghis Khan and of the later's son, Ögedei Khan, for whom he conquered or overran more territory than any other commander in history. He commanded more than twenty campaigns in which he conquered thirty-two nations and won sixty-five pitched battles.
