Spanish Town, founded as Villa de la Vega, is the capital town of the Jamaican parish St. Catherine.
Prior to 1715, the West Indies Assassin Mentor Ah Tabai met Mary Read in Spanish Town and elected to take her on as his student. Read would later recount this meeting to the pirate Edward Kenway a year later.[1]
