Sorkin is a member of Abstergo Industries' Sigma Team, after the original team was killed in Florence by Adriano Maestranzi. He is trusted by Juhani Otso Berg, the leader of the team, and serves as an unofficial right-hand man.
In February 2014, Sigma Team was sent to hunt down the Assassins Harlan Cunningham and Arend Schut, who had stolen a precursor box from a facility in Rotterdam. Berg ordered Sorkin to lead the team after Schut while he pursued Cunningham. Underestimating his skill, Sorkin engaged in hand-to-hand combat with Schut.
