Shaka kaSenzangakhona (c. 1787 – 1828), also known as Shaka Zulu, was one of the most influential monarchs of the Zulu Kingdom in the early 19th century.
Biography
Rising to power in 1816, Shaka proved himself a worthy King, transforming the once small tribe into a centralized kingdom.[1] Fearing his brutal rule and centralized power, he was ultimately assassinated in a plot orchestrated by his half-brothers Dingane and Umhlangana on 22 September 1828.[2]
Personality and traits
Shaka was known to be a brilliant military leader during his reign, having survived numerous assassination attempts.[2]
