Shaka kaSenzangakhona (c. 1787 – 1828), also known as Shaka Zulu, was one of the most influential monarchs of the Zulu Kingdom in the early 19th century.
Shaka was known to be a brilliant military leader during his reign, having survived numerous assassination attempts. Ultimately, he was assassinated in a plot orchestrated by his half-brothers Dingane and Umhlangana on 22 September 1828.
