The Arco di Constantino, also known as the Arch of Constantine, was a structure that formed a part of the Roman Forum.
History
On Constantine I's ascension to the throne in 132, after his defeat of Maxentius I, the Arco di Constantino was built to commemorate his victory; most of the artwork on the arch was plundered from existing monuments and modified to alter its meaning.[1]
