Gian Giacomo Caprotti (Born 1480), commonly known as Salaì, was Leonardo da Vinci's most famous apprentice and most likely his lover.

He was met by Ezio Auditore da Firenze while gambling in a tavern which resulted in both of them being involved in a fight with a group of Hermeticists.

After defeating the Hermeticists at the Thieves Guild, Ezio follows Salai back to Leonardo's workshop, taking an alternate route to avoid any other Hermeticists.

Salai also appeared during the examiniation of the Da Vinci paintings and the recreation of the map to the temple.
