Saint Dominic (August 8, 1170 – August 6, 1221), also known as St. Dominic of Caleruega, was a Castilian priest. In 1216, he founded the Dominican Order, also known as the Order of Preachers, in order to address the spiritual needs of the growing cities. He was granted authority by the new Pope, Honorius III.
Trivia
- The timeline on Assassin's Creed DNA incorrectly states that the Dominican Order was founded by St. Dominic in 1215.
