The Aquifer Oasis is an oasis located in the hills behind the Osiris Stone Circle in the Qattara Depression.
It was visited by the Medjay Bayek of Siwa in the mid-1st century BCE, who found it to be inhabited by a pack of hyenas, as well as flamingos and herons.[1] He also found a treasure there[2], as well as signs of habitation by someone, including a note:
- "Pure water. Pure power. Something in the two are connected."
Trivia
- Aquifer is Latin, literally meaning 'water-bearing'; aquifer is an underground layer of water-bearing permeable rock, rock fractures or unconsolidated materials.
