Roland Napule (unknown - 1190) was the head of a Templar hospital in Tyre, and a doctor and scribe loyal to Lord Basilisk.

Biography

Death

Roland's hospital was the second Templar base in Tyre, along with their stronghold. He was killed by Altaïr while he was interrogating a prisoner, who possessed the second key to the Temple of the Sand.

Trivia

  • Roland Napule has a rather uncanny appearance and role to Garnier de Naplouse from the original Assassin's Creed. His presence in game, as well as that of Tamir, might indicate that Altaïr's Chronicles was originally supposed to follow the story line of the original game.
  • Roland is a name derived from Germanic elements hrod, meaning "fame, famous" and land. Napule is the name of Naples in Neapolitan.
