Richard Butler (1 April 1743 – 4 November 1791) was a Major in the Continental Army during the American Revolutionary War.
While engaging in the Battle of Spencer's Ordinary against John Graves Simcoe in 1781, the Colonial Assassins aided Butler's forces, ultimately rendering the conflict inconclusive due to their interference.
