Rhoeo was a Greek woman living with her husband on their farm in Euboea, Greece, during the 5th century BCE.
Biography
When the Spartan misthios Kassandra came to look for information regarding the local bandits, The Dagger, and especially their leader, The Kingfisher, she found Rhoeo deep in her cups. Nonetheless, Rhoeo could still offer clues for Kassandra to follow in order to find Rhoeo's husband, the farmer, who knew the Kingfisher.[1]
Afterwards, Rhoeo and the farmer could be found embracing on the terrace of their home.[2]
Trivia
- Rhoeo shares her name with a lover of the god Apollo, who became the mother of the mythical founder and king of Delos, Anios.
