The Ra's Al-Afa (English: Head of the Snake) was the title of the leader of the Order of the Ancients based in Baghdad in during the rule of the Abbasid Caliphate.[1] The Ra's Al-Afa's duty was to oversee the Order's control over the city of Baghdad and to utilize their efforts to discover any ancient artifacts left behind from "Those Who Came Before."[2] In the 860s, the last known Ra's Al-Afa was the favorite concubine of the Caliph Al-Mutawakkil, Qabiha, whose Order fell to the Hidden Ones based in Alamut, and her own demise at the hands of Master Assassin Roshan.[3]
