The Quicksand Bay was a bay housing a bandit camp in the Kingdom of Pelops in Elis, Greece. Found in the southern tip of the region, it was located between the Aegean Sea and the inland marshy waters. Due to the vast amounts of water in the ground, the sandy ground could act as quicksand, hence the name.
During the Peloponnesian War, the Spartan misthios Kassandra explored the place, killed the leader, freed their captives and claimed their valuables.[1]
