Pyramid of Amenemhat III

The Pyramid of Amenemhat III was an ancient Egyptian pyramid located in the Haueris Nome, east of the city of Krokodilopolis and northwest of Hermopolis. It was the second pyramid built by the pharaoh Amenemhat III which later served as his tomb after his death.

By the 1st century BCE, much of the pyramid complex had been submerged in water. It was later explored by the Medjay Bayek of Siwa in 48 BCE, who deciphered an Old Kingdom stele in the tomb.[1]
