The Pont Royal is a bridge crossing the Seine in Paris, France.
The Pont Royal is one of the oldest bridges in Paris, and was built in 1632 as a toll bridge to replace a ferry. Due to its red coloring, it was commonly known as the Pont Rouge, sharing the name with a smaller bridge that linked the city's two islands. Throughout the centuries, the Pont Royal has had several name changes and has undergone various partial and complete reconstructions due to flooding.[1]
