Pibos (died c. 429 BCE) was an apprentice of Gorgias.

Biography

Pibos tracked down the other half of the medallion of the Sphinx in Lokris, and then followed rumours of a cave with interesting artifacts to the Tomb of Menoikeus in Boeotia. There, however, Pibos was attacked and slain by a lion who had claimed the gravesite as his den.[1]

The Spartan misthios Kassandra found Pibos' remains soon afterwards, and avenged his death, claiming the medallion half.[1]
