The Phrygian Helmet was a type of helmet forged by the Phrygians, an Indo-European people who formed a kingdom in Anatolia.
By the Peloponnesian War, the use of the helmet had spread to Greece, where it was sold by blacksmiths and worn by both members of the military, most notably the Athenian brutes, as well as some mercenaries, including Auxesia the Spawn of Chaos.[1]

Behind the scenes
The Phrygian Helmet, a piece of armor in Assassin's Creed: Odyssey, shares the same model as a number of similar helmets, including Auxesia's Helm of Darkness, another helmet in the same game, and the Carefully Crafted Helmet, a helmet in the DLC Legacy of the First Blade: Hunted.
