The Petit Pont (English: Little Bridge) is a bridge across the Seine in Paris, connecting the Île de la Cité to the southern bank of the Seine.
Despite being ravaged and occasionally destroyed by various floods and fires, the Petit Pont has never changed names in 2,000 years. Since it was the outlet to the Roman roads to Orléans and Lyon, the bridge has always been heavily used. For the students who attended the schools on the Montagne Sainte-Geneviève hill on the southern bank of the Seine, the Petit Pont also served as the obligatory passageway.
