Patay is a commune in north-central France.
History
On 18 June 1429, it was the site of the Loire Campaign's final battle, part of the French Army's efforts to regain their sovereignty in the Hundred Years' War. French forces led by La Hire and with Jeanne d'Arc among their ranks defeated the English troops, driving John Fastolf to retreat while John Talbot, Thomas Scales,[1] and others were captured by the French.[2]
