The Palazzo della Signoria.

The Palazzo della Signoria was a building in central Florence, and the centre of governmental power during the Italian Renaissance. Atop the building stood a noticeably off-centre clocktower, which also served as a holding cell; the piazza that fronted the building served as a place for both market and execution. In 1476 it saw the execution of Giovanni Auditore and his two sons; in 1488 it saw the execution of Girolamo Savonarola by the mob.

During the Pazzi Conspiracy, Ezio Auditore pursued and assassinated Francesco de' Pazzi on the roof of the Palazzo, before allowing those loyal to the ruling Medici to hang him from the battlements.
