Oporto, or simply Porto, is the second-largest city in Portugal, behind only Lisbon.[1]
History[edit | edit source]
In the early 18th century, the English established trading posts around Porto's coves, bolstering the city's economic importance.[2] This, along with other factors, such as political subsidies for Cuban tobacco,[3] impelled the Welsh pirate Edward Kenway to trade with the city.[2][3]
