Okyllos the Successor (died c. 420s BCE) was a mercenary who operated in Greece during the Peloponnesian War.
Biography
Formerly an outcast, Okyllos chanced upon the body of a deceased mercenary. Looting the man's armor and sword, he became a mercenary himself, fighting in honor of the mercenary who birthed his new identity.[1]
Between 429 and 422 BCE, a bounty was placed on Okyllos, which led the Spartan misthios Kassandra to hunt him down and retrieved his prized sword.[1]
