The Notched Cinquedea was a short blade obtainable by Ezio Auditore da Firenze during the 15th and 16th centuries. It could be purchased from any blacksmith in Florence, Venice, Forlì, San Gimignano, or Monteriggioni.[1] During his attempt to erode the Borgia's power, Ezio could also purchase the weapon in Rome.[2]
History
On 28 December 1499, during his quest to infiltrate the Vatican and assassinate Templar Grand Master Rodrigo Borgia, Ezio used this dagger during his fight against the corrupt Pope in the Sistine Chapel, discarding it later at the entrance of the Vatican Vault to confront the Templar in a fistfight.[3] After the Assassin defeated and spared Rodrigo, and witnessed the message destined to him inside the vault, he picked up the blade again along with his other weapons and used it to fight off Borgia guards as he escaped the Vatican with his uncle Mario Auditore[4] After they returned to Monteriggioni, Cesare Borgia and his forces attacked the town and the dagger was lost in the resulting turmoil.[5]
