Nicholas Alexandrovich (1843 – 1865) was tsesarevich of Russia from 1855 until his death in 1865.[1] He was engaged to Dagmar of Denmark, and a wedding was originally planned for 1864, but he fell ill and the event was postponed. He died before they could marry, and his final request was for his fiancée to marry his brother, Alexander III.[2]
