Natural Aegis was a heavy shield made of solid wood and named after the Aegis of Greek myth.

During the Viking expansion into England, the shield was made available to the shieldmaiden Eivor Varinsdottir of the Raven Clan through an Animus modification by Layla Hassan, an Assassin who relieved her memories in 2020.[1]
