Mount Kynthos is a mountain in Delos, Greece, that was once home to a small Greek settlement dating back to the 3rd millennium BCE.
In Greek mythology, the mountain was where Leto, a consort of Zeus, gave birth to the twins Apollo and Artemis.[1] The mountain also housed the Kynthos Ruins and within them, a tomb dedicated to the goddess Brizo.[2]
During the Peloponnesian War, a small detachment of Athenian troops was based in the ruins around the mountain. The Spartan misthios Kassandra visited the area at the request of Kyra, the leader of the Silver Islands' rebels, destroying the Athenian influence and exploring the Tomb of Brizo.[3]
